Description:

The Manager, Human Resources Position will be the plant HR business partner for the Alkegen sites (ST Rivalain and Bonloc) manufacturing location. This Human Resources Business Partner is accountable to these sites to ensure Human Resources services are delivered in a cost efficient and high-quality manner.  The role will provide business partnership to the Plant Managers and the leadership teams.  As well as oversee all elements of Human Resources and be the main liaison with the works council to ensure the business needs are met. 

The scope of activities includes workforce planning, talent management, communication, leadership development and learning & development.  The Human Resources Business will be expected to provide guidance and recommendations on diverse and/or complex issues, and ensure compliance based on accurate interpretation of federal, state and local policies and regulations. The Human Resources Business Partner will be expected to keep good relationship with the management and the works council to ensure high retention and morale.

Responsibilities:

Be a strategic thought partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team

Bring the voice of employees to critical organizational decisions

Take an active role in understanding business issues. Recommend and develop approaches and programs to address those challenges.

Lead and manage HR to ensure achievement of Global Operations and Global HR departmental goals

Recruit, hire and develop hourly and salaried personnel

Administer company policies and procedures including participation in new employee orientation

Maintain human resources systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and other employee information

Facilitate group processes and enable and encourage employee involvement, problem solving, targets and best practices concepts

Provide advice and coaching to local managers on people policies and procedures, employment arrangements and local labor law

Support managers to resolve employee relations cases (such as disciplinary, grievance, absence, retirement, social disputes, etc.)

Provide HR data analysis and insight, enabling informed, fact based decision making

Support the implementation of varied HR projects enabling successful delivery of the HR strategy

Provide first line support to employees on local employment related queries

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and 8-10 years HR experience; or Master's degree in Human Resources or related field and 6-8 years HR experience.

This position requires strong negotiation, communication (verbal and written) and coaching skills. Must possess excellent leadership and management skills. Must understand French labor law and have experience working with the works council. Must be able to handle a diverse and heavy workload.

Experience with Workday is also a plus. English language proficiency, both written and spoken, is critical to the success of this role.

A proven track record of strong leadership within Human Resources

Must have experience and exposure to modern HR practices and be curious about emerging HR trends

Excellent people management and demonstrated workforce development skills

Data and goal oriented

Good analytical skills in problem solving and business development

Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to successfully engage with stakeholders across Unifrax, Union and outside parties

Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity and challenge the status quo

Must be able to be influential and have a proven track record as a strategic business partner to the business

Great people management and coaching skills.

Strong business acumen with the ability to influence culture and create alignment between business goals and HR processes

Demonstrated competency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

Able to effectively communicate and build relationship at all levels within the facility

Proven ability to interface and influence at all levels of the organization.

Experience in maintaining a nonunion presence or in the administration of a collective bargaining agreement including grievance investigation, responses and participation in contract negotiations desirable

Experience in industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
