**Job Description**
**WHAT’S THE JOB?**
Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the HRBP Advisor is tasked with supporting unit operations from an employee and HR perspective. This includes providing to managers on how to handle employee related concerns, ensuring Dexterra policies are understood and followed, provide training and development, hands on support for recruitment and retention initiatives, employee correspondence and other legislative and crafting communications and letters for various situations. The HRBP is also responsible for union management relationships and partnering with the operations in negotiations and contract management.
+ Partners closely with members of the unit management team by providing professional HR support in carrying out HR functions for our various units across Canada.
+ Assist in employee management, supporting managers and answering their queries, as well as recruitment and retention, and training and development.
+ Work with the HR team to support HR projects and completion of objectives. Identify gaps in processes and initiate solutions to bridge deficiencies
+ Acts as a resource and provides professional support and advice to both management and staff in all matters pertaining to employee/labour relations.
+ Assist in maintaining employee files in electronic and physical formats, upholding strict confidentiality of company and employee records
+ Manage the HRIS (UKG) and will play a key role in the migration to Dexterra systems in the future.
+ Provide support in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures and communicating any changes to management as well as employees.
+ Develop and present training to employees and management utilizing a variety of techniques to convey relevant information
+ Interpret labour contracts and take an appropriate course of action when actively applying them to situations.
+ Key support for labour negotiations
+ Collect metrics and develop reports detailing the success of initiatives and possible growth opportunities for the department and organization.
+ Stay up to date on any changes within the HR field regarding legislation or best practices
+ Focus on customer service mentality to provide guidance and training to field managers as it relates to HR practices
+ Act as the point-of-contact for the Dana Hospitality Business including queries from District Managers and Unit Managers to respond to inquiries about and resolve problems related to employee concerns, training availability, policy clarification and application, etc.
+ Provide support, as required, to internal departments (e.g. Payroll)
+ Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
**WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
+ Post-Secondary certificate in Human Resources Management and a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an HR Generalist/Business Partner.
+ CHRP designation considered an asset.
+ Must have labour relations experience dealing with multiple unions.
+ Experience with ATS (Smart Recruiters) and HRIS (ADP) is strongly preferred
+ Superior written and verbal communication skills, bilingualism in Canadian French is an asset
+ Must have the ability to adapt to a consistently changing environment.
+ Superior interpersonal skills, able to work comfortably and provide counsel to all employees.
+ Ability and experience in making well informed decisions based on broad HR knowledge base.
+ Excellent knowledge of labour legislation, familiarity with food services would be an asset.
+ Advanced computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
+ Detail oriented with excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
+ Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and follow directions
+ Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks quickly
+ Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
+ Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
+ Some travel to units across local region/province/country to provide on-site HR support
