Human Resources Business Partner - Temporary

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business unit Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution - Act as an onsite trusted advisor to employees and managers, handling sensitive employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and investigations in a fair and consistent manner. Provide support and guidance to ensure a positive work environment and maintain compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Change Management and Organizational Development - Partner with leaders to drive change initiatives, support organizational development, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Assist in managing transitions related to reorganization, mergers, or acquisitions, and help employees adapt to changes in work structure or responsibilities. Employee Engagement and Retention Strategies - Develop and implement employee engagement programs to foster a positive work culture and retain top talent. Conduct follow-up support for engagement surveys, analyze feedback, and work with managers to address concerns and improve the overall employee experience. Support employees in various HR areas including benefits, Kronos, SharePoint, Employment Verifications, Attendance Policy, and other general polices.  Ensure accurate and timely HR data for assigned business units.  Leave of Absence Administration - answer employee questions, track, provide updates, and general management of FMLA, Disability, Workers Compensation, and other leave programs. Supports talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, for managerial, exempt/non-exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings Work with PST on all new hires and record changes; manage the Journeys on- and off-boarding processes. This position is also responsible for conducting on-site an interactive orientation for all new hires including benefits review. Assist with coordination of performance reviews and merit increases while ensuring compliance and equity Participate in employee succession planning process to ensure appropriate plans are in place Responsible for the data entry of new hires and other changes in Kronos. Verify attendance points are tracked accurately in Kronos when working with Managers/Supervisors. Update & Track employee records with all training and development program information. Responsible for data accuracy and process integrity for Employee Connect. Enter changes in the system and conduct regular audits of data.  Pull routine reports as needed. Manage the local anniversary award and retirement recognition programs.  Pull quarterly reports recognizing milestone anniversaries.  Maintains accurate personnel and I9 files.  Move e-files and I9’s to termed folders as appropriate.  Conduct regular audits for accuracy.  Scan and file additional documents received. Assist with company on-site events and/or employee engagement initiatives. Act as liaison for employees who may need HR assistance pertaining to Leave of Absence or assistance with HRIS systems. Ensure compliance posters are current and are posted on appropriate bulletin boards within facility. Special projects as needed for PST and WBG business.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources Management/Business 4+ years of proven success in a Generalist or HR-related role in a manufacturing environment.  Experience with SAP/Oracle and ADP/Kronos or similar systems preferred. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws

Skills & Other Requirements

Highly developed organizational skills Familiar with MS laws Ability to multi-task Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems and processes preferred. Demonstrate knowledge of local employment laws and regulations Proficient in Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to operate general office equipment (scanning, fax, copier). Employee relations experience is a must Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidential information. Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills – building relationships with managers directly.  People oriented with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

Working Conditions

Office environment within manufacturing plant. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job

Physical Requirements

Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings. Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents. Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues. Able to perform physical tasks in various positions: standing, crouching, kneeling, reaching.
