Primary Responsibilities

The Human Resources co-op student will provide and gain experience in HR support to managers, salary professionals and hourly operations employees to achieve the site safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost goals as well as lead managers through Axalta HR processes and practices. HR responsibilities include employee relations, employee engagement development, HRIS data management, and other projects. More specifically, this role supports employee activity for the Operations Mobility business.

She/he will need to have strong business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, mid-range plans, culture, and competition to ensure the HR strategy can support and drive the business goals.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Provide input into site planning including HR initiatives to support site metrics and goals.

Provide consistent interpretation, and counsel to support effective resolution of people management issues that may require corrective action or progressive discipline, as required.

Coordinates and provides HR support for labor relations and positive employee relations activities.

Coordinate non-exempt job placement including posting internal jobs and administering applicable testing,

Support the implementation and administration of HR policies and programs.

Familiarization with HRIS and Time & Attendance systems (UltiPro & Kronos Workday). 

Will support and/or lead various projects in support of key site and HR goals and objectives.

Execute on special projects or other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Credits toward Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

Previous HR internship(s) within a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required

Some working knowledge of employment laws and regulations

Proven ability to multi-task.

Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with Kronos WFD desired.
