Human Resources Director

Job Description:

The Director, Human Resources is responsible for leading functional support to the assigned business units including employee relations, employee communications, performance management, employee onboarding/offboarding, compliance, benefits administration and HR training. The candidate must have experience in leading human resources teams, build trusting relationships, use critical thinking and effective communication and be skilled at advancing people related practices in a fast growth, entrepreneurial environment.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a thorough knowledge of the company’s business, processes and sales-centric approach, with a focus on Cambria’s values

Is a close confidant and management advisor to varying levels of management to collaborate, calibrate, guide, coach and teach employment, management and leadership skills 

Identify trends and/or solutions to improve employee retention

Facilitate HR-related training for assigned business units as needed

Lead human resources projects, such as building training content, compensation systems, policy development/deployment, and other assigned strategic projects 

Lead employee relations investigations and make recommendations to resolve issues to ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken

Lead HR staff to support all aspects of business partnership and employee relations 

Collaborate closely with varying levels of leadership for employee management, employee relations and efficient tools for managers to effectively manage the workforce  

Lead effective and efficient performance management processes, including regular performance feedback, employee development, talent calibration and progressive discipline

Lead performance & talent calibration across assigned business units to ensure the right people are in the right roles, performing effectively 

Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws

Qualifications & Skills:

Significant demonstrated experience leading HR teams in a multi-state and diverse role workforce, preferably in a manufacturing company

Very strong collaborator and communicator that includes superior listening and facilitation skills

Strong intuition skills and ability to facilitate problem-solving 

Aptitude to meet commitments and deadlines, and work collaboratively as required 

Ability to build trust in a short period of time

Strong analytical mind focused on facts and problem-solving. 

Well-developed skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, planning, organization and execution.

Ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, high energy environment

Highly organized with the ability to handle many priorities simultaneously

Handles change well, self-motivated and stays focused under pressure

Results-oriented, including a strong sense of urgency

Strong computer skills are required, including skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

Professional image and remarkable presentation skills

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field, MBA desired

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Human Resources business partnership and 5 years of HR leadership experience 

Systems: Google Suite and Microsoft Office, HR Information Systems such as Workday or Ceridian Dayforce 

Additional Requirements:

Managerial Responsibilities: Two management direct reports, and four indirect reports

Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to other locations as needed.   Travel will be approximately 10%   

Physical Requirements: This is an office position requiring phone and computer use 

Cambria’s starting salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
