Human Resources Director - Japan


Reports to: VP of People

Position Overview:

We are looking for a HR Director for our Japan organization. This HR Leader will play a critical role in shaping and executing our People strategy. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in human resources, particularly within the technology or cybersecurity sectors.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Japanese and English, with a proven track record of driving HR initiatives that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals, enhance organizational effectiveness, and drive employee engagement in our Japan organization.
Talent Management: Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies, ensuring a robust pipeline of top talent aligned with our company growth.
Employee Relations: Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting open communication, conflict resolution, and employee feedback mechanisms.
Performance Management: Design and manage performance management systems that align individual performance with organizational objectives and drive our pay for performance philosophy.
Compliance: Best Practices: Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local labor laws and regulations, while adopting best practices in HR management.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, promoting professional growth and enhancing HR capabilities across the region.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of HR Business Partner experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in the technology or cybersecurity sector.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or HR certification is a plus.
Bilingual Skills: Fluency in Japanese and English is required, with strong communication skills in both languages.
Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to think strategically and align HR initiatives with business objectives.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Cultural Competence: Deep understanding of Japanese workplace culture and HR practices, along with experience collaborating and partnering in a global environment.
