Human Resources Generalist

Essential functions and responsibilities:

Greet applicants, team members, and leadersAnswers Human Resources department phone linesAssists HR team, as a generalist in all areasUpdates and maintain Human Resources forms, documents, and other materialsCoordinates monthly benefits enrollmentFile and maintain benefit filesAssists in orientation training and onboardingRecruits for open positions as neededCreates BEOs, flyers and organizes team member eventsPrepares presentations, letters and other communication for team membersOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

Previous experience in HR related work requiredAssociate of Science degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or related field (or a minimum of two years of HR experience) or equivalent experience in the Hospitality FieldDemonstrated ability to solve problems by utilizing an understanding of HR laws and regulationsFamiliar with or able to learn Workday, Unifocus Time & Attendance systems, ADACO and other internal operating systemsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Powerpoint and reporting software.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detailExcellent communication, organizational, and human relations skillsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively interact with team members at all levels of the organizationGood working knowledge of operational and administrative hotel departmentsAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred:

Experience with issues relating to FLMA, ADA, HIPAA, Worker’s Comp, OSHA and FLSAWorking knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to appropriate interview questions surrounding Title VII and ADA issuesRecruitment experienceFormal HR certification or trainingPreferred, not mandatory – bi-lingual (English/Spanish/Creole)

Education: 

H.S. Degree, Associates or higher with concentration in Human Resources is Preferred

Experience:

Minimum 2 years administrative office experience
