Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the People department including recruiting and onboarding new team members, supporting compensation, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, and ensuring teams are successful. The HR Generalist builds strong relationships and partnerships in the community and collaborates with colleagues and stakeholders to promote WelbeHealth’s values and team culture.

Work Location: Sunset Park, Brooklyn (New York City)

MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND MANDARIN

Essential Job Duties:

•    Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to Welbe’s Central experts.
•    Partners with recruiting team to source, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
•    Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. 
•    Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
•    Supports and contributes to new hire orientation and team member recognition/engagement programs e.g. 30, 60 new hire, exit survey, engagement survey.
•    Performs standard tasks required to administer and/or support People programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
•    Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
•    Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
•    Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
•    Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all company procedures and information about employees, participants and families.
•    Follow WelbeHealth policies and procedures and participate in any required Quality Improvement activities, staff training and meetings.

Education/Training/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience required. At least one year of human resource generalist experience required.

Skills and Experience: 

At least two years of experience working in a related people/HR activities required. Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) – able to read, write, and converse effectively in a professional setting. Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 per year
