DESCRIPTION: 

In the role of Human Resources Generalist (HRG) with Fisk Electric, you will report to the Human Resources Supervisor and will be responsible for assisting in our day-to-day HR operations.  You will ensure that we are compliant with all federal and state regulations. The HRG must have a customer service mindset, as this role will interact with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as outside vendors.

Must be extremely organized, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.   Monitor and verify the completeness of all documentation pertaining to new hires, activate and process new hire paperwork, obtain signature approvals, coordinate with Payroll Department and other internal resources. Process W-4/State withholding/Direct Deposit/WOTC. Perform and manage E-Verify processing; TNC’s, I-9 documentation, ongoing I-9 audits and maintenance. JD Edwards live data entry  Support compliance-related processes including leave tracking and communication. Assist with resolving employee relations issues including conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Act as a performance improvement driver for individuals and teams and provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Identify training needs for individuals, teams, and business units and individual executive coaching needs. Assist with Workday Implementation testing as needed. Consult with senior-level HR when availed of employee relations issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

Associates’ degree, or higher, in Business, Human Resources or a related field from an accredited institution. 2 or more years of HR experience with demonstrated knowledge and a good understanding of HR principles. Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and HRIS experience with JD Edwards and/ or Workday is preferred but not required. Experience utilizing video conferencing apps, such as Zoom and Teams and can manage the remote new hire orientation PowerPoint  Must demonstrate strong ethics and interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn new software quickly required. Excellent writing skills; demonstrated experience creating and writing processes Ability to build relationships and partner with employees across all levels of the organization. Demonstrates current knowledge and understanding of federal and state labor laws and other applicable employment laws; (FSLA, FMLA, etc.). Experience working under Collective Bargaining Agreements in Union Relations is preferred but not required Bi-lingual preferred but not required. Must be willing to work five days per week in the Houston office.
