Human Resources Generalist
Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. As a Human Resources Generalist, you'll serve as a vital point of contact for employees at all levels of an organization. This position will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including onboarding staff, supporting payroll, benefits and leave administration, and enforcing company policies and practices. The ideal candidate will have the appropriate mix of technical expertise, work ethic, interpersonal skills and a solid working knowledge of all HR functions, as you'll be expected to provide guidance and support to management and employees.

Duties/Responsibilities: Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. Supports the Recruiter with posting jobs, scheduling interviews, initial candidate screening for open positions. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Implements new hire onboarding/orientation and employee recognition programs. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, performance management, and leave. Assists with employee relations matters, including conducting investigations when required, working with managers to resolve issues, all associated administrative requirements to ensure effective resolution and compliance with all employment laws. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Support the HR team with daily administrative tasks and special projects, as needed. Assist in organizing and coordinating HR policies and procedures. Participate in continuous improvement of HR functions and processes. Participate and contribute with other Human Resources team members in planning, developing and implementing personnel policies, systems, workflows and procedures. Conduct new employee orientation and other training programs when needed. Assists with the management of FMLA, Short-term disability, ADA, and other leaves of absence Participate with other HR staff in planning, developing and implementing personnel policies, systems, workflows, and procedures Assist in revising and maintaining existing policies and procedures in compliance with changing company needs and the law, including but not limited to, the Employee Handbook, Policy Maintain awareness and knowledge of compliance requirements to prepare metrics and coordinate appropriate reports for federal reporting requirements (EEO-1 and Affirmative Action Plan). Monitors the Human Resources general email and phone line inbox and resolves inquiries or distributes the details to the appropriate Human Resources team member. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent job experience required. Proven experience working in a Human Resources Generalist role. Three to five years’ experience preferred. Experience with employee relations work a plus. Experience working in a Recruiting Coordinator role a plus.
