The Job:  

The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the HR Department. Including managing HR programs, Talent Development, and policies/procedures for the business. This individual will be responsible for developing positive employee relations & engagement, effective communications, safety, recruitment & onboarding. As a Human Resources Generalist, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team working onsite in Sedalia, MO.    You’ll get to:  

Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business with the highest degree of integrity and discretion.Provides support to all HR functions such as onboarding, benefits, compensation, and engagement. Employee engagement activities to include, surveys, working groups, councils and committees Represent employee advocacy and strong business partner relationsDevelop an employee-oriented culture that strives on safety, quality, continuous improvement and productivityWork together with employees, supervisors and managers to resolve employee relations issuesDevelops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and proceduresReinforces and advocates for Open Door Policy across the leadership teamPrepares and maintains handbook on policies and proceduresFosters a consistent, clear, concise communication planPlan and coordinate recruitment strategies.  This includes sourcing (internet, job fairs, newspapers, agencies etc.) interviewing, selection, diversity initiatives, background checks, drug testing and manpower planningServes as payroll specialist when neededOther duties as assigned

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an HR Generalist with a bachelor's degree.  Related degree preferred.Manufacturing or Distribution Center experience highly preferredThorough knowledge of wide range of HR/legal standards & regulations, programs, processes, and tools in all areas ranging from recruitment, benefits, training, and payrollSelf-starting, results-oriented individual who is team orientedEffective organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skillsAble to handle multiple projects and priorities as well as deal with ambiguityDemonstrates a strong attention to detailAdvanced computer literacy, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word and WorkdayWilling to work additional hours to cover off shifts for communication rhythmsWilling to relocate to other Stanley Black & Decker facilities as necessary
