Guidewire, Inc is a Non-Profit Human Service Agency that provides residential, and day supports to adults with developmental disabilities through Hampden & Berkshire counties. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist with a focus on Benefits and Leaves Administration to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities. This is a full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm in office position working out of our Springfield office. This is a great opportunity to work in a friendly, professional, and supportive environment.
Core Job Responsibilities (Not all inclusive):
Benefits
+ Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, health care spending accounts, dental and vision, short term and long term disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
+ Conduct benefits orientations and open enrollment.
+ Reviews monthly benefit related premiums and payroll deductions.
+ Reviews/reconciles benefit vendor invoices to ensure timely vendor payments.
Leaves & Workers’ Compensation
+ Coordinating workers/compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims
+ Assists with evaluating accident reports, ensuring the timely processing of medical bills, reviews medical reports, witness statements, department investigation results and other documentation. Compiles facts and data regarding accident reports and filed cases.
+ Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA or PFML qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
+ Assists with Advising managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers’ compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
+ Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA/PFML, workers’ compensation, or other leave(s).
+ Administers other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
General HR Duties
+ Assists with New Employee Orientation and employee recognition programs.
+ Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
+ Assists in review of weekly timecards in Guidewire’s Time and Attendance system to assure that hours match schedules, paid time off is used as allowed per the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Employee Handbooks.
+ Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment law, payroll and workers' compensation.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
+ Minimum two years of Human Resources or payroll experience.
+ SHRM-CP or PHR professional designations preferred but not required.
