Human Resources Generalist - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Salary Range: $79,000 - $86,500 (Based on Experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the plant to get input on HR decisions and ensure delivery of high-quality HR processes
• Supports employment activities assuring the timely placement of qualified employees in salaried and hourly positions
• Conduct new hire onboarding
• Understands, interprets, follows, and enforces all established policies, procedures, and recognized practices
• Support in analyzing training needs and make recommendations on employee and leadership training and development, including safety programs
• Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training
• Support to drive Engagement and Alignment initiatives locally. Plans and organizes company events, e.g., luncheons, picnics, recognition, etc.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
• Keeps TV monitors up to date with current and relevant information
• Support in annual open enrollment activities
• Ensures compliance with employment-related laws (EEO, OSHA, FLSA, ADAAA, FMLA, etc.).
• May serve as company representative in personnel hearings, investigations, and related employment litigation. Maintains necessary records
• Updates job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
• Involved with day-to-day employee relations including interest-based problem solving, counseling, and coaching
• Provides support for other duties and projects either locally driven or from Corporate. May be assigned as a subject-matter expert/best practice lead on one or more human resources disciplines
• Organizes and works independently on multiple assigned tasks/projects and completes assignments within specified deadlines
• Conduct HR investigations and submit findings and recommendations to HR Director
• Responds to site unemployment claims
• Assist with conducting exit interviews. Analyze findings and make recommendations to reduce turnover
• Complete regular reports as required (e.g., headcount, overtime, attendance, organization chart, payroll discrepancy, etc.)
• Support in payroll activities as needed. Serve as payroll backup to cover time off

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 6 years as an HR Professional preferably in manufacturing environment; strong preference given to candidates with at least 3 years in HR Generalist role
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, performance management, employee relations, compliance, training, and employment compliance
• Bilingual in English/Spanish required
• Knowledge of California employment law
• People-oriented and results-driven
• Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics and analytics
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases
• Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and Teams
• Ability to confidently engage with business leaders, demonstrating ease in respectfully challenging perspectives when necessary to achieve optimal solutions for organizational success
• Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
• High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization
• Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner
• PHR or SHRM CP certification a plus

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time on a computer
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
• Constantly working in noisy office
