Summary The Human Resources Intern will be responsible for answering phones, opening and distributing the mail, copying, filing, and scanning documents and greeting and assisting Human Resources clients. This position is a paid, part-time position, twenty-five hours per week. Key Duties + Open, sort, and distribute the mail (Corporate and HR Office) + Greet and assist job applicants and candidates + Answer multi-line telephones + Type correspondence and other documents + Scan, copy, and file documents + Mass mailings and distributions + Collate materials for new hire packages + Print resumes from applicant tracking system + Print and distribute “New Hire Welcome” Letters + Key applications into SAP + Enter background checks + Conduct new hire orientation + Other duties as assigned Qualification Requirements General. This position typically is an entry-level internship supporting a busy Human Resources Department for a large, heavy civil construction company. Must be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or other applicable field. + Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Human Resources Intern to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. + Required to sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. + The employee may regularly be required to walk or stand and occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds. + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. + Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Human Resources Intern encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. + Work generally is performed in an office environment, although periodic visits to construction sites and manufacturing facilities may be required. + Noise level in the typical office work environment is quiet.
