Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations
Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Develops, coaches, directs and evaluates the work of HR Partner or HR Service Center direct reports across the organization to build and maintain a strong functional employee relations team. Analyzes current policies, processes, and procedures currently in place and recommends improvements, driving implantation through collaboration with key stakeholders and strong change management processes. Serves as internal expert for the HR Partner team and organization’s leaders to provide advice and counsel on all aspects of HR programs, events, policies, and practices including but not limited to: employee services, HR policies, internal reviews, leave of absence, open enrollment, hardship analysis, dispute resolution, third party inquiries, employee appreciation functions, services award, employee forums, employee survey administration and response, and employment/legal risk management. Work closely with department managers to provide guidance on employee relations matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Serves as a resource for other HR team members and is responsible to ensure appropriate service and quality measures are met. Work with the Service Center employees to support customer needs and guide direct reports in optimal service delivery using exceptional customer service, interpersonal communication, professionalism, and problem-solving skills. Fosters and maintains positive relationships with other HR Team members, serving as an interface between employees and HR operational team members to ensure effective definition and delivery of employee programs. Sets high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. Manages business priorities and resources to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective achievement of business results. Provide leadership, planning, and project coordination for designated direct reports. Provides individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities. Based on business needs, build and maintain a strong functional team through effective hiring, training, mentoring, coaching and team building. Prepare and participate in the preparation of staff training and development and performance management. Uses interpersonal styles and methods that inspire and guide individuals toward higher levels of performance; modifying behavior to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals involved. Works with others within HR and the organization to optimize HRIS systems, databases, and telecommunication systems to meet workforce requirements creating opportunities for automation, self-service and reduction of manual processes. Foster teamwork through participation in McLeod Health Human Resources meetings, programs and training as provided.Job Requirements
Qualifications/Training:
7+ years of HR Generalist with progressively responsible experience, with at least 5 years of Employee Relations preferred Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, Regulations, and other rules relative to employee relations, compensation and benefits including but not limited to FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, EEOC, NLRA, ERISA, section 125 of the IRS Code. Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Strong business and financial acumen. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and HRIS systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft or other HRIS platforms.Education/Certifications/Licenses:
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Human Resources or related field or 7+ years of HR Generalist experience.
