**POSITION DETAILS**
The Human Resources (HR) Department at Bronx Community College (BCC) plays a vital role in advancing the College's mission through the careful selection, development and engagement of its workforce. The HR Manager supports the day-to-day functions of the HR Department by managing transactional processes, supervising HR staff and ensuring the consistent application of policies and procedures. The HR Manager upholds a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all communications, HR and payroll transactions. This position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and works closely in collaboration with the Deputy Director of Human Resources as needed.
Duties include:
+ Manages daily HR operations, manages and provides coaching to assigned HR staff to ensure efficient delivery of services.
+ Serves as the point of contact for HR inquiries, policy interpretation and subject matter expertise.
+ Provides administrative support for performance evaluations and reappointment processing.
+ Tracks and reports HR metrics and operational data for internal analysis and compliance reporting.
+ Works with HR leadership in the coordination of recruitment efforts and onboarding activities for instructional and non-instructional personnel.
+ Prepares vacancy reports for HR Leadership and the Budget Office for various presentations.
+ Facilitates internal HR team meetings and activities to ensure communication and alignment.
+ Recommends procedural improvements to enhance HR workflows, processes and employee service.
+ Supports employee exit processes and ensures offboarding tasks are completed in a timely manner.
+ Participates in HR-related projects, special projects, and planning, in collaboration with department leadership.
+ Performs duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree and six years of related professional HR experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Minimum three years of managerial HR experience.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ High degree of judgment, discretion and professionalism.
+ Master's degree in human resources, Business Administration or a related field.
+ Experience working in CUNY, higher education or unionized environments.
+ Familiarity with CUNYfirst or other HRIS platforms.
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Manages a portfolio of Human Resources programs and operations at the College level.
- Assumes responsibility for delivery of one or more human resources programs, which may include recruitment, performance management, labor relations, pay administration, recordkeeping, and/or human resources technology
- Manages staff responsible for carrying out operations in the Human Resources office
- Directly supports College department chairs and managers in staff planning, recruiting, hiring, and resolving sensitive personnel issues regarding their employees
- Provides guidance on the impact of laws and regulations, CUNY policies, and collective bargaining agreements
- Provides outreach to employees and provides communications such as meetings, newsletters, and web sites
- Compiles accurate and well-organized reports
- Assists management with developing policies, procedures, and programs to support Human Resources' objectives
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
Salary range is **$90,375 - $93,491** , Salary commensurate with education and experience.
For appointments expected to start on or before 8/31/2025:
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
