Job description

The Human Resources Manager’s role is to enable strategic human capital initiatives that drive desired people and business outcomes while supporting our aspiration to become the premier building products provider in North America. This role will lead the comprehensive human resources functions for their assigned location(s) with the assistance of a centralized shared services HR model. This role is expected to deliver high quality results in guiding leaders to develop high performing teams and developing team members for career growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Be a culture champion by integrating our core values; Safety, Integrity and Inclusion, and our Behaviors & Mindsets; Customer Centricity, Interconnected and Continuous Improvement, into all site processes, decisions, and employee interactionsEnsure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations with the assistance of the centralized compliance teamsEnsure all company HR policies are applied consistentlyLead the hiring and recruiting efforts; this includes strategic workforce planning, working with hiring managers and our Talent Acquisition team to fill open positions, onboard new hires and build strong internal and external pipelinesEnforce and train site leaders on performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to employeesEngage Learning & Development tools to advance the knowledge, skills and abilities of employees that align with their roles and career objectives and drive succession planning. Support the Operations with any necessary training or programming initiatives. (i.e., Problem Solving, Improvement Suggestions, 5S)Oversee and take a proactive approach to employee relations and investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution in a timely manner and document properly. Manage any and all investigation processes as they relate to harassment, corporate complaints, workplace violence, etc. Report issues to HR Director and work in conjunction with Compliance as neededSupport employees and leaders during the annual employee engagement survey by encouraging participation, reviewing results, and working with leaders to develop and execute action plans throughout the year to maintain strong employee engagement, and performanceUnderstand and monitor time and attendance processes to ensure the centralized payroll team can complete processes routinelyFacilitate employee communication strategies on site by ensuring communication boards, digital communication displays, and electronic communications have up to date information accessible to employeesHelp facilitate leave administration and requests for accommodations in compliance with applicable laws and policies with the assistance of a centralized leave teamDrive our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at your site by encouraging the presence of different types of people, eliminating barriers to ensure all employees have access to resources, opportunities and advancement, and create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected and valuedHelp engage our safety culture by working closely with EHS partners and participating in leadership safety initiatives including safety meetings, safety incident root cause analysis, safety walks and talks, and correcting any observed safety concernsEnforce defined compensation strategies as it relates to promotions, skill advancement, gainshare, merit, market/inflationMonitor and maintain accurate HRIS data including correct job assignment, employment status changes, manager assignments, etcMaintain H.R. related expenses within budgetary guidelines; provide ongoing information regarding required metrics, worker’s compensation activities, training hours, and overtime expenses to the Plant Manager and/or Directors as required. As well as properly manage any travel and expenses associated with your roleManage and actively participate in all termination practicesHelp drive CBB Cares initiatives including our Connecting Communities, our Home for Good Project, and Employee Assistance FundEncourages positive interaction between management and employees; plan and implement employee activitiesEnsures that their facility is utilizing management practices which result in our employee not seeing a need for a third party for locations without a third party.Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field6+ years in progressive HR Management experience in a Manufacturing or Production industry requiredWorking knowledge of employment and labor laws, such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.Must be knowledgeable of benefits administration, specifically the annual enrollment process, life status changes, COBRA, etc.Must have experience with HRIS systems as well as strong technical skills with MS Office Suite applications. SmartSheets experience is a plusDemonstrated leadership ability with proven experience in strategy development and problem solvingDemonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to management, employees, corporate personnel, and vendors/suppliersExcellent analytical, problem resolution, negotiating and project management skillsStrong organizational skills: and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet established and changing deadlinesMust be willing to work flexible work schedule to ensure HR availability across multiple shiftsStandard manufacturing office environment and ability to comfortably navigate on manufacturing floorRequired to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the manufacturing areas Additional information
