The Human Resources Manager develops and promotes an overall HR strategy in support of Genesee Lake Schools mission, vision and business growth strategy. This leadership position operates in a matrixed environment with the Operating Company leadership and Corporate Human Resources to direct the Company’s activities related to human resource functions, including involvement in recruitment, retention, on-boarding, training, employee relations, complaint resolution, performance management, and policy development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provides direction in employee relations matters, and all other areas of Human Resources including but not limited to, total rewards, ADA, attendance, performance, corrective action, and termination; and ensures actions taken are appropriate, consistent, and in accordance with company policy and applicable employment law. Works in partnership with MyPath HR and Company Leaders relating to investigations and situations that include serious/complex issues including allegations of abuse, conflict of interest, harassment, and fraud.
• Establishes and maintains collaborative partnerships with Operations and HR to meet or exceed HR goals and objectives.
• Participates in workforce planning initiatives, identifying current and future gaps based on Company growth expectations. Provides strategic and visionary leadership, hands-on understanding of the recruitment function, organizational structure, positional placement and compensation program. Ensures all actions are in compliance with applicable federal and state laws concerning equal employment, ADA, FMLA and wage and hour.
• Directs the strategic development and growth of an employee ownership culture and brand to ensure a highly engaged workforce and competitive advantage.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in actions: prepares and manages to allocated budget; holds staff accountable for efficient use of resources; ensures own and staff’s expenses are submitted timely.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification preferred.
• Requires minimum of 5 years of experience in most of the following HR disciplines: recruitment, retention, on-boarding, performance management, affirmative action, equal opportunity employment, training, employee handbook, policy development, and employee relations.
• As a strategic leader this role requires one or more of the following: proven experience in leading change, successful implementation of organization-wide processes, demonstrated experience in establishing department, service, and or performance metrics; success at coaching, mentoring and developing staff.
• Three years of supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, exercise good judgment, and effectively solve problems.
• Requires exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communications, negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
• Remains calm under pressure and maintains self-composure/self-control in times of high stress.
• Working knowledge of MicroSoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
