ASRC Federal is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager (HRM) responsible for supporting the Broadleaf and Professional Support Services (PSS) Divisions within the Defense & Intel (D&I) Operating Group. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources for D&I and will be a hybrid role reporting to our Reston, VA office 1-2 days per week.
The HRM will assist the operating group HR VP in executing HR programs policies and procedures to align with business objectives. The HRM provides day to day oversight for assigned Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP's) supporting various contracts within the PSS Division. The HRM is both a strategic and hands-on role that will be leading and executing the HR function in a fast-paced environment by integrating human capital needs and requirements within the overall business strategy. The HRM will be responsible for leading project initiatives, contract transitions, or individual programs tailored to meet the operating group goals and objectives. The HRM will also be responsible for managing employee relations issues, delivering training, and daily support to customers across several programs.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervises, mentors, and coaches assigned HRBPs to maximize performance and potential. Creates an environment of positive employee relations by respecting confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility, being seen by employees and managers as approachable and fair, and balancing business needs with employee needs. Counsels management and resolves employee relations issues related to manager/employee situations, employee engagement, policies and procedures, performance improvement plans, and employee separations. Acts as senior resource on difficult and/or complex issues and cases. Partners with lines of business leadership to create and embed a high-performance culture through employee engagement, career path development, and performance management. Be highly visible and proactive to promote positive employee management practices; establish positive relationships between all members of the workforce, promoting high employee morale, motivation, and an overall culture of trust and engagement. Collaborates and partners with Senior Leaders and Line Management on providing HR services in the areas of employee relations, policy interpretation and implementation, affirmative action/EEO, organizational structure, FLSA guidance, workforce development, performance management, and training to achieve the best possible business solution. Ensures investigations are handled in a fair, timely manner, and consistent with company culture and local requirements; recommends corrective action ranging from coaching to terminations. Reviews and oversees challenging termination decisions and disciplinary decisions for fairness, consistency and potential legal liability. Advises, coaches, trains, and guides managers across multiple time zones on disciplinary issues including misconduct, policy or practice violations, corrective actions, and termination Maintains a working knowledge of federal, state and local labor laws for assigned area, and updates management on policies/processes as necessary. Creates guidelines, best practice research, and trainings to educate employees and managers on HR Policies and Procedures to include Progressive Discipline, Harassment, Performance Management, Affirmative Action, and other areas as necessary.
