Human Resources Manager
Position Overview The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the Human Resources Function of the plant. Areas of responsibility include administering wage and salary programs, local benefit programs, staffing, training, employee and/or labor relations, AAP and EEO compliance. May assist in plant environmental health and safety compliance Areas of Focus The Human Resources Manager provides an effective employee relations program, responsive to employee and company needs. Responsible for in-plant communication programs Responsibilities + Establish an effective working relationship with management and employees to resolve problems and promote efficient work practices + In union plants, handle the first through third steps in the grievance procedure. Assist in fourth step grievances, handling arbitration, and contract negotiations + Monitor payroll, insurance claims, and unemployment claims to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and procedures + Administer staffing, promotion and transfer of employees to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and union contracts Represent + Company at unemployment hearings + Develop and facilitate appropriate employee training for employee development and safety + Conduct or coordinate annual Management training in employment/labor law, company policies and practices, including sexual harassment + Develop an annual Affirmative Action Plan + Responsible for personnel and benefits records, employee orientation and information update + Active participation in SHRM or other professional organization + Maintain staffing levels necessary to support plant operating objectives + Administrative/clerical personnel, including HR specialists or generalist + Decisions made or actions taken on own authority + Staffing recommendations + Employee problem-solving and counseling; benefit administration + Decisions/actions that require the support of associates or higher approval + Changes to plant or corporate policy and procedures + New training programs Basic Qualifications + Bachelor in related field or equivalent experience + Eight years direct Human Resources Generalist experience + Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADA, EEO, AAP + Training, employee relations and labor relations + Effective communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of employees + Manufacturing industry experience required Preferred Qualifications • SPHR Certification within 2 years of hire date and maintain ongoing Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.30 - $61.00 • Medical, dental & vision• Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital• 401(k) Retirement Plan – Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available• Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents)• Short and long-term disability• Health Spending Account (HSA)• Transportation benefits• Employee Assistance Program• Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Stonecrest,GA 30038.
