Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the Human Resources Function of the plant. Areas of responsibility include administering wage and salary programs, local benefit programs, staffing, training, employee and/or labor relations, AAP and EEO compliance. May assist in plant
environmental health and safety compliance

Responsibilities
Establish an effective working relationship with management and employees to resolve problems and promote efficient work practicesIn union plants, handle the first through third steps in the grievance procedure. Assist in fourth step grievances, handling arbitration, and contract negotiationsMonitor payroll, insurance claims, and unemployment claims to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and proceduresAdminister staffing, promotion and transfer of employees to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and union contracts RepresentCompany at unemployment hearingsDevelop and facilitate appropriate employee training for employee development and safetyConduct or coordinate annual Management training in employment/labor law, company policies and practices, including sexual harassmentDevelop an annual Affirmative Action PlanResponsible for personnel and benefits records, employee orientation and information updateActive participation in SHRM or other professional organizationMaintain staffing levels necessary to support plant operating objectivesAdministrative/clerical personnel, including HR specialists or generalistDecisions made or actions taken on own authorityStaffing recommendationsEmployee problem-solving and counseling; benefit administrationDecisions/actions that require the support of associates or higher approvalChanges to plant or corporate policy and proceduresNew training programs
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor in related field or equivalent experienceEight years direct Human Resources Generalist experienceKnowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADA, EEO, AAPTraining, employee relations and labor relationsEffective communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of employeesManufacturing industry experience required
Preferred Qualifications
• SPHR Certification within 2 years of hire date and maintain ongoing

The pay range for this position is $55.30 - $61.00
