Under broad supervision, provides HR support to business unit or corporate functional area which may include recruiting, selection, and staffing, employment and personnel documentation, job evaluation, compensation, and benefits. Acts as a liaison between departments/Companys, all levels of line and staff management, compensation and benefits department, legal counsel, and outside service providers. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience.Reporting to the Edmonton Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Repair Business Unit (RBU) Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Manager provides professional and responsive HR support to the Edmonton team through expertise in payroll, full-cycle recruiting, attendance management, employee relations, performance management, and labour relations. Our Edmonton repair facility operates a three-shift operation, respectively, at this time, and response to members of all shifts will be required by the Human Resources Manager.
Responsibilities:
Champion local HR process improvement and Corporate HR initiativesAssist in identifying current and future manpower needs; develop and execute hiring strategy to achieve those needsManage local recruitment, on-boarding and exit processesAdminister attendance managementProcess hourly and salaried payroll at their respective intervalsRespond to employees’ inquiries and concernsManage hourly team member performance and maintain disciplinary recordsAdvance workplace morale, vision, and purposeParticipate in health and safety committeeRespond to urgent matters that could occur outside of business hoursOther related duties as assignedRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human ResourcesMinimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a unionized, industrial environmentMinimum 2 years’ experience with hourly and salaried payrollExperience with WorkdayExperience with ADP’s Workforce NowAbility to work autonomously through full-cycle recruitment processExcellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skillsStrong organizational capabilities and conflict management skillsProven ability to work well under pressure and manage competing prioritiesAdvanced skills in Word, Excel, OutlookPreferred Qualifications:
