Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually

 

Job Function – Plan, direct and coordinate human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as recruitment, conflict management, personnel policies, and benefits.

 

Responsibilities

 

Recruit, interview, select and administer background check on applicantsProvide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefitsAdminister conflict resolution, terminate employees, and administer disciplinary proceduresAdvise managers and other employees on organizational policy matters such as employee benefits, leave options, harassment, and recommend changesParticipate in new employee orientation to explain and foster positive attitude on organizational objectives and policiesServe as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts/union agreements (if applicable) and helping resolve work-related issuesPlan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of direct reports, if applicableMaintain records and compile reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, terminations, FMLA administration, Progressive Disciplinary Warnings and Prevailing Wage reportParticipate in conducting investigations and maintaining recordsReport Worker’s Compensation and Business Auto Incident reports and act as liaison with insurance carrier on inquiriesRepresent organization at union grievances (if applicable), unemployment hearings, and court appearancesAdminister special projects in areas such as employee awards including Employee of the MonthFile salaried employees informationAssists employees with any health insurance issuesSupport onboarding of new hiresConsults with Chicago Support Office when necessary to ensure proper procedures are followedComplete other projects and duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

At least 4 years of prior Human Resources experience, preferably to have included responsibility for Talent acquisition and Employee Relations.  A four-year degree in business administration, management, personnel management, accounting, or a related field from a recognized college or university preferred. 

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret instructions, memos and other correspondence. Ability to write correspondence in a clear and professional way. Other abilities as needed by the location.

  

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure, including but not limited to, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to effectively respond to employee problems or complaints.
