Nuclear Care Partners is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our growing team in Grand Junction, CO! The HR Specialist will play a critical part in supporting our HR operations and ensuring a smooth experience for new hires and current employees alike.

 

Compensation: $20-$25/hour

Responsibilities: 

Assists new employees with the completion of their new hire paperwork. Follows the new employee on-boarding checklist to ensure all items are obtained from the employee. Uses checklist to ensure proper receipt and completion of all required documents.
● Tracks all background and drug screen results and notifies Human Resources Supervisor of any flagged or positive results.
● Communicates with hiring manager as to readiness of new employee for placement and informs appropriate HR areas of new hire, i.e. Orientation, Payroll, Benefits, etc.
● Processes employee terminations, i.e. assessing final compensation, sending termination notice, deactivating in employment database, etc.
● Informs appropriate HR areas of employee termination, i.e. Orientation, Payroll, Benefits, etc.
● Assists with company orientation of new hires.
● Represents the HR Department in a positive customer focused manner while maintaining and providing timely follow-up/status of requests. Returns phone calls/electronic messages in a timely manner.
● Facilitates clear and open communication to employees/job applicants and accurately answers questions regarding personnel policies, benefits, and procedures.
● Processes, verifies, and maintains documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruiting, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and classifications.
● Records data for each employee, including such information as addresses, absences, supervisory reports on performance and dates of and reasons for terminations.
● Researches, compiles and analyzes data for special personnel projects and reports as directed.
● Maintains updates and manages department filing system, to include retrieving files, and reports as directed.
● Responsible for the maintenance of employment files both electronically and hard copy.
● Notifies Human Resources Supervisor of all employee relations inquiries/issues.
● Maintains and distributes all HR related forms as needed.
● Maintains the highly confidential nature of human resources work.
● Assists with day-to-day efficient operations of HR department.
● Operates a variety of office equipment in performing essential functions, i.e. copy/fax/scanning machines, telephone systems, computers, printers, etc.
● Supports reception area as needed with incoming calls and walk-in traffic.
● Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

● High School Diploma or GED or 1-2 years of relevant work experience required
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
● Working knowledge of Excel and Word required
