Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Human Resources Specialist on daylight to work a 40-hour work week for our Human Resources Department. The HR Specialist is responsible for providing support in the delivery of a wide variety of HR services. Manages, processes, and maintains files and computer data for employee recruitment, employment, compensation, disciplinary action, licensure, certification, education, benefits, and serves as support for the Director of Human Resources.

*Essential Functions:*
Receives, screens, routes visitors and telephone calls. Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.
Assists with the hiring process by meeting with new hires, processing new hire documents and assisting with orientation.
Works closely with clinical recruiter and hiring managers for recruitment needs and onboarding of new hires.
Maintains human resource information systems as a liaison to the HSC Shared Services, maintains employee personnel files where applicable. Ensures files meet Joint Commission standards by conducting periodic audits and following record retention procedures.
Follows up with managers and directors to ensure proper documentation is sent to HR ensuring personnel files are in compliance.
Informs/trains managers and directors to maximize the use of the systems used in Human Resources.
Maintains and updates employee job descriptions and changes.
Actively communicates benefit eligibility and information to new and current employees.
Maintains current and up-to-date list of all credentials/licenses and primary source verifications, ensures background checks are current and up to date.
Monitors and updates the Medical Center's Labor & Employment boards in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws.
Manages contracted staff files making sure all required documents are obtained and on file, including individual contractor information, licenses/certifications, verifications, competencies, etc.
Ensures all contracted staff are oriented to the Medical Center, including signing confidentiality agreement, reviewing facility policy, and completing competencies based on position.
Audits contracted files on a regular basis, including creating a tracking spreadsheet. Works with contracted entity (i.e., Physical Therapy) to ensure all contractor information is up to date.
Works with HRD to manage the Shadowing Program. Provides interested individuals with application materials. Provides packet application to HRD for review and Admin. approval. Assists with coordinating shadowing experiences, ensuring all required documentation is submitted prior to shadowing experience. Maintains records of individuals who participate in shadowing experiences at the Medical Center.
Implements employee special events and activities in conjunctions with the Medical Center's Employee Engagement Committee. Ensures employees are recognized for achievements.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
***Minimum Work Experience:*
At least two to three years of professional office experience in Human Resources, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Requires critical thinking skills, time management kills, organizational skills, customer service skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
