The HR Specialist will provide generalist HR support to our Brooklyn team including employee onboarding, benefits and compensation administration, policy interpretation, employee file maintenance, HR communications, and more. The HR Specialist will regularly interact with all levels of employees in our offices, other North America HR teams, and the Regional and Global HR teams.

 

As a member of BCG’s Human Resources team, we will lean on you to help us develop, deploy, and retain the best talent in the market. We will work together to manage the life cycle of our BCGers and the day-to-day operations of HR. In this role, you will have the opportunity to display your exceptional customer service, problem solving, and analytical skills!

 

You’re good at

Collaborating with the Brooklyn and Hudson Yards office HR team to provide general support for local staff including contributing to onboarding, leave-of-absence management, off-boarding, and employee relationsInterpreting, implementing, and answering inquiries related to HR benefits, payroll, policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency and thoughtfully navigating grey areasCreating and maintaining a variety of reports and audits for the local office HR function including attrition and turnover, people movements, form I-9 tracking, and othersContributing to projects and process improvements for the Brooklyn office HR team, as neededActively participating in the New York HR team and the broader HR community including regional/global initiatives and projectsOther duties, as assigned

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field strongly preferred2-5 years of business experience, preferably at a high touch environment with professional staffFamiliarity with federal and state employment and labor lawsComputer proficiency in Windows, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookStrong analytical abilities strongly preferred

Location & Format

This role will be primarily based in the Brooklyn office, with periodic travel to the Hudson Yards office. At BCG, our people and relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that in-person work is essential to our culture, mentorship, and professional development. That's why we operate on a hybrid model, with the expectation that team members will be in the office 3 to 5 days per week. This role is designed for those who thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is not intended for remote or virtual work. 

 

Compensation

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.  
 
We expect total annualized compensation for New York City-based employees to be approximately the following: 

 

Base salary between $79,000- $97,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill levelAnnual discretionary performance bonus between 0-12%5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting periodFirst year annualized target total compensation: $88,000 - $107,000 (USD)
