Primary Function
Key leader in day-to-day plant HR support and site HR Team. Partners with multi-site HR manager and site management team to drive improvement, forecast staffing needs, employee development, lead HR programs and compliance. Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management.
Responsibilities Lead human resources for site, support training, recruiting, employee engagement, comp/benefits, payroll and security functions at a manufacturing facility. Align site HR objectives with the business to drive organizational value; actively partner with site leadership, North American leadership and corporate human resource teams to drive continuous improvement towards expected business results. Analyze data, make recommendations, and implement solutions to improve metrics and turnover. Partner with site leadership team to foster a culture of mutual trust and respect. Lead continuous improvement of site's employee engagement efforts, providing consultation and recommendations to key stakeholders in the areas of talent management, employee relations, change management, performance management, safety, wellness, and other people initiatives. Partner with operations management to help foster effective relationships and two-way communication by participating in skip-level and communication meetings. Coach front-line supervisors through employee relations and performance management issues. Serve as a resource and advocate for employee questions, concerns, suggestions, and needs. Proactively address employee issues, involving the appropriate stakeholders and driving issues to closure. Develop and deliver employee and management training as needed. Work closely with HR Coordinators to develop their technical and leadership skills. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field 5+ years of related work experience 3+ years of supervisory/ leadership experience Must have a previous experience working in a manufacturing shop floor environment and operations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor message based on audience is also required. Ability to build strong relationships and achieve results working with others is required. Must be able to operate with a sense of urgency with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop and execute action plans and evaluate the results of action plans. Must have strong problem-solving track record with the ability to drive to root cause. Ability to get things done through others while balancing the people and culture implications of change. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to stay on top of daily issues and move projects forward in parallel.
