SALARY RANGE $33,760.00 - $40,901.03 Annually $1,298.46 - $1,573.11 Bi-weekly Position Summary This position is a highly responsible position in Staff Development, under the direction and supervision of the Quality Services Department at Sunland Center. The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing practical assistance to direct care staff on all three shifts. This includes onsite training, education, and practical work with staff and residents. The Work You Will Do The incumbent is responsible for maintaining hands-on training curriculum for teaching Direct Care Staff (DCS) core competencies, to include documentation, professional work habits, workplace competencies, dress code, special observations, and other identified direct care core competencies. Demonstrating, modeling, and working hands-on with new DCS. Providing practical assistance, training and monitoring assisting DCS in the work environment. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining core competency evaluation for both new staff as well as identified veteran staff, DCS, conducting core competency evaluations, and providing follow-up training for competencies not met during evaluations. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining an electronic data system for tracking and reporting competency evaluation results. Summarizing and reporting competency evaluation data to Quality Services Administration. The incumbent is responsible for working collaboratively with Staff Development trainers to obtain a working knowledge of training provided to DCS during NEO and ensure NEO training is consistently applied by new DCS in the field. Consulting with Staff Development trainers on core competency evaluation results as they relate to DCS practical skills development needs. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications + Preferred: Valid driver's license. + Preferred: High school diploma or its equivalent + 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting . + One year of experience training or teaching adults . + Preferred: CPR Instructor Certification . + Preferred: Mandt Instructor Certification. + Willingness to provide instruction in residential homes and on all three shifts . + Willingness to provide instruction involving the use of advanced physical skills, such as restraints and floor procedures . Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities + Working knowledge of ICF/IID Interpretive Guidelines – specifically those related to active treatment. + Skills providing Adult Daily Living Skills (ADLS) training to residents + Ability to demonstrate proper ADLS training techniques to Direct Service Staff (DSS) in a positive, supportive manner. + Ability to positively assist DSS supervisors in supporting and training DSS. + Knowledge and skills in software programs including MS Excel and MS Word.
