World Vision Internships provide a three-month opportunity for exceptional students and recent graduates ready to explore a career in the international relief and development sector. Internship Opportunity

When disasters strike, ensuring children have access to essentials like clean water, food, and shelter is crucial. The Disaster Management (DM) team is dedicated to safeguarding vulnerable populations from physical harm, disease, educational disruption, family separation, trafficking, and exploitation. Our approach spans the entire spectrum of disaster management—from early warning systems and risk reduction to preparedness, emergency response, recovery, and ultimately transition.

Join the Learning & Knowledge Management unit to help lead the DM team in applying continuous learning to enhance our performance in humanitarian programming. This involves bolstering systems, structures, and environments that facilitate the capture, storage, and sharing of knowledge, and leveraging this learning for practical application and organisational change.

What You’ll Do:

Knowledge Management

Co-develop library taxonomy & draft for all resources.

Support Subject Matter Experts to:

Refine library taxonomy.

Conduct an audit of resources by function/theme.

Update relevant content to our intranet (WV Central).

Humanitarian learning

Update real-time evaluation guidelines.

Conduct and transcribe some key informant interviews.

Support the development of a humanitarian learning trend report.

Translate resources into French, Arabic, or Portuguese, as feasible.

Other responsibilities

You have a strong acumen for digital collaboration tools (e.g. SharePoint, MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).

You have qualitative research experience.

You are fluent in French, Arabic, and/or Portuguese.

Location: Remote within the US. You must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Knowledge Management, Library Science, Data Analytics, Qualitative Research, Behavioral Science, Humanitarian Studies, or related fields. 

Internship Cohort Dates: 27 May – 22 August. 

Stipend: this internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.

Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week)

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

At least 18 years of age.

Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa) and have a valid US Social Security Number.

Able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period: 27 May – 22 August. 

Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate programme (within 2 years).

Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
