Hummingbird Host/Hostess

Basic Function:  To provide and facilitate excellent food and beverage service to our guests in an expedient, professional and courteous manner.   Assist where necessary in Café

Work Performed:

Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready for workUniform must be neat and pressedCollect and set up any necessary equipment to perform jobCollect keys and complete all opening and closing side work dutiesSeat guests in the Café and controls flow of guest seating according to appropriate standards and guidelinesRemain in sight of hostess stand during duration of scheduled shifts excluding time spent on lunch break and breaksDeliver food and drinks when necessaryBus and completely reset tables throughout shiftEnsure that staff has a current VIPs guest list, and destination guest list in key places and familiarizes himself/herself with names on those listsAnswer all calls within 3 rings using designated verbiage, standards and guidelinesUnderstand and utilize reservation and spa softwareMake reservations for guests in proficient and professional mannerRecognize guests by name, and use names whenever possible (three times including during a phone call)Thank guests for dining with us and warmly welcome backKnow all menus and familiar wine listsKeep work station clean at all timesRegularly check guest bathroom, ensuring it is tidy and notify Housekeeping or Engineering if it needs serviceMaintains par levels of selected suppliesRead all memosMaintain positive and professional attitude towards guests and coworkersMust be able to operate Rio in proficient mannerMaintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests and co-workersReport to Café Manager or Supervisor before ending work shiftReport any guest dissatisfaction, mishandled reservations and opportunities to management in a timely mannerAct as an ambassador of Enchantment Resort and Mii amo by speaking positively of the property at all timesFoster a work environment of teamwork and mutual service by assisting co-workers and other departments as necessary to ensure guest satisfactionTake orders for in-room dining in a complete and timely fashion as necessaryKnow resort layout, amenities, hours of operations, special attractions and occasionsWork efficiently and as a teamOther duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.  Must work well with or without direct supervision.  Must be neat and well groomed at all times.  Needs to be flexible, self motivated, positive and have a professional attitude towards guests, co-worker and management.  Must maintain current food handler’s certification.   Prior host/hostess experience desired.   English skills necessary to communicate with guests.  Computer skills helpful.  Superior phone skills, and have a service orientated, pleasant phone personality
