Trane Technologies is hiring an Applications Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you will be part of a team that provides engineering services for late-stage customization of Trane commercial air conditioning units and chillers.

What you will do:
Responsible for achieving project scope and intent of designResponsible for submittal generation, scope, and accuracyResponsible for managing scope changes and their impact on cost and schedulePerforms complex design and analysis activities involving refrigerant, controls, airside, and waterside systemsUses a variety of computer programs including Trane selection/simulation programs and component manufacturer’s programs to select fans, coils, compressors, and other system components to create submittals, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of material, and IOM manuals.Controls project expense by monitoring material and labor expenses versus assigned project budgetSupports the sales function by assisting with cost estimatesEnsures compliance with all applicable safety and listing agency requirementsParticipates in design reviews (DMFEA) and auditsMaintains job file records and correspondence
What you will bring:
Bachelor of Science Degree required in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, computer, or related engineering discipline1-3 years of engineering experience in HVAC system design preferredProficiency in CAD softwareExcellent communication and collaboration skillsKnowledge of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processesAbility to work cross functionally with a variety of internal and external stakeholdersCompensation:
