The Site HVAC/BAS Engineer will be able to work within multi-disciplined engineering capital project teams, as well as other project related cross-functional teams with representatives from departments throughout the organization. This individual will participate with URS development, specifications, engineering design, FAT and SAT, and initial start-up, commissioning, qualification and validation of HVAC and Building Management Systems. The position also requires periodic interface with regulatory agencies and other auditing functions.
Responsible for troubleshooting HVAC issues, reviewing Air Balancing Reports, supporting deviation resolutions, leading small projects while following Global Engineering Specifications & SOPs that are HVAC/BAS related. This person will be performing HVAC C&Q types of activities, updating design documentation and revieweing appliable HVAC drawings. This person will be known as a subject matter expert (SME) of air-flow, instrumentation and controls for HVAC systems, be well versed with FDA and EU expectations and ISPE's good practice guides. This is a very dynamic and fast paced position requireing good stake-holder management skills.

Main Responsibilities:
Responsible to provide engineering support and ownership for HVAC and Building Management Systems including scope definition, design and specification review, and project quality and energy conservation.
Provide support, advice and guidance to Project Teams which allows them to meee program requirements, on time and within budget. Responsible for balancing technology, cost and maintainability in determining and applying solutions to projects. This position will function together with the Project Manager as the primary interface with outside engineering consulting firms on mechanical design issues, and interpretation of Owner program and project requirements.
Provide recommendations on Code compliance, equipment selection, value engineering, construction implementation and commissioning, interface with construction, and cGMP Validation of mechanical systems.
Interface regularly with regulatory agencies and other auditing (internal and external) functions.
Assist the Engineering department with development of corporate standards and guidelines.

There will be no budgetary responsibility but will have purchasing authority represented by the company policy for a Manager position.
About You
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Knowledge of local contractors and/or engineering consultants is a positive. The ideal candidate would have hands-on working and trouble-shooting experience with BAS Systems, HVAC and air balancing issues along with cGMP compliance experience.
