Job Summary

Job Summary:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and cooling towers.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC system issues to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
Monitor and adjust controls to ensure appropriate temperature and humidity levels throughout the facility.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hospital standards in all HVAC operations.
Collaborate with maintenance staff on facility-wide projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in HVAC systems preferred.
Experience with HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
Strong understanding of temperature and humidity control systems.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


 

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Related Field of Study required


Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and components.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve HVAC system issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with local and federal regulations related to HVAC systems and environmental safety.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with staff and reporting issues.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols in a hospital environment.
