As an HVAC Instrument and Controls Technician based in Atlanta, GA, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. The BMS Hub I&C Technician performs work as an HVAC systems instrumentation and controls specialist. The position will be responsible for performing BAS performance verifications; running complex reports to analyze system operation; collecting data and entering it into a computerized maintenance management system. Monitoring the (JCI Metasys & Honeywell CPO) BAS for alarms, adjust and make repairs when needed is also an important responsibility in the BMS Hub I&C Technician role. Jacobs Hub at the International Airport plays a critical role in maintaining a comfortable and pleasant environmental for passengers, as well as those that visit and work at the world’s busiest airport. Scheduled first shift work hours for this role are 6AM to 2PM; however, alternate work hours may be required during inclement weather, special project requests, or as needed by the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Company, LLC, Jacobs’ client at the airport. Essential Job Functions * Troubleshoot and repair building automation systems, networks, and components under minimal supervision. * Perform point-to-point checkout commissioning and system diagnostics from system level controllers to end devices. * Monitor the BAS from network to devices for consistent performance and identify trends that may indicate performance issues and react by resolving issues before they produce discomfort for the client and their customers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to perform high level BAS software and hardware troubleshooting on complex HVAC systems and subsystems including network and controllers. * Possess familiarity with BAS systems such as Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell, Tritium, Niagara, etc. * Ability to diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of BAS network protocols, software, sequence of operations and DDC ladder logic. * Ability to create graphics in BAS. * Demonstrated knowledge of N2 and BACnet protocols is desired. * Good computer, communication, and typing skills * Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities. * Strong time management skills. * Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision. Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we’ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world’s most challenging Operations Management projects, together. #OMFS #BIA #OurJacobs #BoldlyMovingForward #ChallengeAccepted * Five years’ work experience maintaining and operating HVAC and other equipment in an industrial, commercial, aviation, or manufacturing environment required. * Three years’ experience with facilities BAS systems, installation, programming, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing. * Valid driver’s license with ability to be covered by Jacobs liability insurance carrier. Ideally, here’s what you will also have: * HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience * Associates degree from 2-year accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience preferred. * BAS Instrumentation and Controls certification preferred. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Working conditions in the work area can include indoor environments, as well as outdoor environments, which could cause exposure to changing weather conditions; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens, and various chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Physical requirements to perform work will include ability to sit, stand, stoop, twist, and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to work on equipment, have vision sufficient to maintain equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour shift, must be able to walk long distances throughout the facility, lift objects up to 40 pounds from floor level to waist height, climb into and out of vehicles having high ground clearance; work in prone position under vehicles or equipment; wear and use appropriate safety equipment; work alternate shifts to meet client needs.
