Job Description Summary:

A HVAC mechanic is specifically trained in the trade of operating, servicing and troubleshooting, H.V.A.C. & steam boiler systems. 

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
• Will be requested to service steam, hot water, (heat exchanger), chilled water, refrigeration systems, air handling equipment, VAV mixing and volume boxes, humidification systems and related electrical and pneumatic controls including D.D.C. Direct Digital Control Systems.
• Investigate hot or cold and humidity complaints, diagnose problems and implement solutions.
• Maintain entire pneumatic control system from air compressors to thermostat inclusive, replacing defective components as needed.
• Maintain P.M. Schedule on all mechanical equipment to include punching chiller and boiler tubes on annual basis.
• Check, clean and maintain water tower and associated water treatment system.
• Perform proper testing and addition of required chemicals. Keep records of testing.
• Maintain steam system; maintain boilers (gas fired) to include all chemistry for closed loop service; perform boiler efficiency tests.
• Troubleshooting all associated controls for sequence programmed operation.
• Maintain all associated equipment to boiler (Boiler feed pumps - feed tank and condensate return pumps).
• Break down entire boiler and components to inspect, clean, repair, replace, refractor fire box for any and all necessary maintenance.

Skills/Abilities
• Experienced using hand and power tools, including torches, vacuum pumps, gages, etc. as well as reading wiring diagrams and using meters. 
• Knowledge of building management systems and related electronic pneumatic control.  
• Must be willing to learn all related mechanical systems and operations.

Licensure
A State license is required in location of job:
• Florida - Current FL State Refrigeration Technician Or
• Massachusetts - Current MA State Refrigeration License.

Experience
A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.

Additional Job Description:

Ability to obtain a US clearance is required.
