Responsibilities The HVAC mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all HVAC equipment. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all HVAC equipment Repair and preventative maintenance on all ice machines quarterly and maintains logs Maintain all refrigerators Perform basic plumbing functions Assemble tubing or fittings using couplings, screws, bolts, or soldering and brazing equipment Analyze the operation of various systems, and determine the cause of any malfunctions and take corrective action as required Perform preventative maintenance on all base building and critical equipment which includes but not limited, to assembling all tools, supplies and instruments necessary to complete the task Maintain tools and order supplies as required for installation and repairs Report problems or malfunctions Keep logs, document equipment repairs, close work orders, track time accurately in reports and provide timely and constant communication with the Facilities’ Leadership Team Comply with department’s policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous waste materials Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs, and maintenance of building and equipment Perform any and all other duties as assigned Qualifications 3 to 5 years’ experience as an HVAC mechanic Valid NJ driver’s license Knowledge of Siemens EMS systems Available to work flexible hours and or on call shifts as needed Ability to climb ladders work in crawl spaces Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions included but not limited to, hot, cold, outdoors, dry humid areas, heights, and congested areas Skilled in use of tools and machinery required for this position Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes Must be able to lift 50lb.
