This position performs installation, repair and preventive maintenance on air conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration equipment and systems. Key responsibilities include HVAC systems, self-contained air conditioning, refrigeration equipment and systems. Assists other trades when needed with other various tasks.\n
\n

Roles and Responsibilities:\n

Safety\n\nDemonstrates an understanding of emergency procedures, fire drills, evacuation procedures, and internal\/external disaster procedures, as outlined in the fire safety policy, knows personal role in the event of a fire while on duty. Exceeds: Understands fire alarm system and equipment. Can properly reset the system, demonstrates the ability to place certain points or zones on hold and troubleshoot problems.\nProvides a safe environment; demonstrates alertness to areas needing attention in avoiding unsafe conditions such as but not limited to: wet flooring, blocked egress areas etc.\nMaintains work area in a clean and safe manner on a daily basis.\nAlways wears all personal protective equipment when required.\nCarries out duties in a safe professional manner, with focus on customer service as a high priority. Exceeds: No substantiated complaints from patients, physicians, staff & visitors.\nAbility to use the Life Safety Drawings to identify smoke and fire barrier construction throughout the facility.\nAnticipates potential and environmental safety hazards and takes appropriate actions.\n\n

Emergency Response\n\nAvailability for on call duty when \/ as required.\nWorks additional hours if required, including occasional shift changes due to work assignments. Exceeds: on occasion voluntarily offers to change primary work schedule to accommodate work assigned.\nParticipates in availability for unscheduled Emergencies when they occur.\nParticipates in Facilities On - Call Weekly Program (candidates hired after 2020)\n\n

Systems and Equipment Maintenance\n\nMaintains HVAC systems, self-contained air conditioning, refrigeration equipment and systems. Exceeds: Follows through with repairs until complete and assist contractors as needed.\nReplaces and services electrical controls, motor parts, thermostats, relays, pumps, condensers, filters and related equipment.\nAdjusts controls and performs necessary checks to assure satisfactory operating performance.\nPerforms scheduled preventative maintenance in accordance with equipment specifications. Exceeds: Preventive Maintenance completed during the scheduled time interval.\nPerforms maintenance on other equipment where knowledge is demonstrated.\nInstalls new equipment in accordance with manufacturers and medical center standards.\nRepairs and provides preventive maintenance for ice machines. Exceeds: Ice Machine maintenance schedule is kept current per designated maintenance intervals.\nRemoves Refrigerant from pieces of equipment to be disposed of.\nManages the stored equipment inventory. Exceeds: Keeps the storage in an orderly fashion.\n\n

Systems and Equipment Operations \n\nInvestigates all work request submitted. Exceeds: Remedies any safety issues that arise before ending shift.\n Provides operational suggestions that may improve system performance.\nAssists in the instruction to medical center staff in use of operation and equipment.\nMaintains current knowledge levels on designated medical center equipment.\n\n

Facilities Support \n\nMaintains tools, inventory, and equipment.\nAssists other members of department with performing required duties.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nAssists Facility Manager in estimating small projects.\nAssists facility Manager in implementing and managing contracted vendors completing electrical maintenance or repairs to CMC equipment and systems.\n\n

Information Management \n\nAccurately uses the hospital information system to enter and retrieve maintenance related data.\nDemonstrates knowledge of the work order system.\nAssists in keeping one-line electrical drawings and as-built drawings updated.\n\n
\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nHS Diploma or equivalent experience\nThree years' experience in commercial refrigeration, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (journeyman)\nEPA \"Universal\" Certification Required\n\n
\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nHVAC Trade School Preferred\nDEC Pesticide License Preferred\n\n
\n

Physical Requirements:\n\nWill require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including equipment & supplies. Ability to climb ladders when working on equipment.\n\n
\n

Location and Travel Requirements:\n\nOnsite at Main Campus\n7am to 3pm\nPeriodic travel to other facilities can be expected in this role\n\n
\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$29 to $37 per hour\n\n
