THE JOB:

The HVAC industry offers promising job growth, especially for those seeking to become a Massachusetts Licensed Refrigeration Mechanic. As an HVAC Plant Operator at MGM Springfield, you will have the critical responsibility of conducting predictive maintenance and reactive repairs, which includes installing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the building. This role not only provides hands-on experience but also opens doors for further professional development and specialization within the HVAC field.

STARTING RATE: $35.45 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Perform routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical systems throughout the property with focus on boilers, chillers, pumps, and control systems in the Central Utility Plant.Responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management and maintain logbooksOperate power and hand tools to complete job assignmentsRead and understand blueprints and wiring schematics to install and work on electrical componentsUnderstand the layout of the property, hotel rooms, and equipmentKeep informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods and advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the propertyMaintain a constant awareness of property cleanliness, safety, and accident prevention; able to wear/use personal protective equipmentAttend daily shift briefing meetings, meet and manage outside contractors when needed.

 

Schedule: 4 day, 10-hour shifts

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Self-motivated employee wiling to accomplish goals with minimum supervisionOperate equipment used in maintenance of facilities such as forklifts, scissor lifts and boom liftsKnowledge of Building Management Systems, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, fire pumps, generators, and HVAC Equipment.Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, and ExcelTwo years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC field.Familiar with safety and OSHA requirements
