Objective To perform complex and independent routine and preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, but not limited to condensors, pumps, motors, coils, fans, and blowers, filters, boilers, cooling towers and relateed ancillary equipment.

To assist other technicians in the HVAC departmentin the performance of preventative maintenance and repairs on all components of the HVAC system.


Required Quals Summary High School diploma or GED. 1 – 3 years related work experience. Special Notes To Applicants This is a 12 month position, with full benefits, health insurance and life insurance paid by the college for the employee. Other benefits available at optional cost to employee. 12 vacation days a year, 8 hours sick leave each month (up to 600 hours), 5 discretionary days and 2 personal days a year, plus paid holidays (1 week at spring break, 3 days at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas and other paid one day holidays throughout the year, subject to change as approved by the Board of Trustees. Principal Accountabilities 1. Perform preventative maintenance as per established preventative maintenance program, and demonstrate proactive maintenance procedures.

Troubleshoot and make repairs to heating and direct expansion HVAC/R systems, electrical wiring related to the HVAC/R equipment, soldering or welding of Freon or water lines, replacing HVAC/R components of units and replacing complete HVAC/R units Principal Accountabilities 4. Participate in projects relating to the HVAC/R department and systems. Principal Accountabilities 5. Paticipate actively in established safety programs designed to provide a safe work environment. Minimum Qualifications 1. Two(2) or more years experience with HVAC systems. Minimum Qualifications 2. Approved EPA Certified license to handle or purchase refrigerants. Minimum Qualifications 3.
