Skookum is seeking a dedicated and proactive HVAC/Refrigeration Supervisor with a professional attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Technical expert for managed assets and systems in the HVAC/Refrigeration domain and has a trade background – maintenance, repair, and construction.  Identifies/works systemic asset issues with Shop Lead, PWD SME, and Reliability Engineer to resolve via repair or capital project. 

Shop Execution.  Ensure assigned maintenance teams meet service expectations and quality standards. Monitor employees to ensure efficient use of time, performance and understanding of work tasks.  Spends about 25% of time at worksites or at client site – getting firsthand knowledge of work execution results.

Planning.  Performs job planning for preventive, predictive, bullet, and larger repair work including craft/labor, materials, services and supporting elements, e.g. permits, site assessment.  Works with shop leads to ensure high level of success.  

Scheduling.  Performs annual PM level loading and integrated shop scheduling – PMs, Backlogged CMs, Repair Projects – to optimize shop execution and wrench-time.  Identifies scheduling issues including material, subcontractors, and permits.

Asset Management.  Work with EAM to ensure asset alignment is achieved between all CMMS systems, as defined in all J-Attachments under your charge.  This includes adding new, replacing old, and properly inventorying current assets in the field.  Ensure that all assets, aligned to Job Plans and System Inventories (J-Attachments), have proper preventative maintenance profiles assigned.

PM/PdM Optimization.  Works with shops to optimize PM and Predictive (PdM) plan for key asset types and specific assets.  This includes PM frequency, Job Plan Tasks, PdM tool incorporation (IR, Vibration, Ultrasound), and sensor integration where appropriate.  Can include ‘run to failure’ strategy where appropriate. 

Equipment Commissioning.  Leads effort for assigned projects including repairs and MILCONs.  Works with FEAD and Shop personnel to ensure equipment is properly inspected, key turnover documents provided, asset data and tagging, and initial maintenance plan setup (PMs, Job Plans, PdM/sensor plan).

Condition assessment.  Ensures appropriate information is being collected to gauge the condition of key assets including workorders, asset specs/data, PdM/Sensor, Tech Notes, downtime.  Ensures information is incorporated into bad actor and system BI views.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Defect Elimination (DE).  Conducts RCA studies as assigned.  Facilitates DE program for assigned shops.  Supports Asset criticality and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) assessments.

Issue resolution.  Effectively respond to quality and service complaints including Performance Assessment Worksheets.  Identify root cause and ways of preventing repeat occurrences. Works with QC Manager for systemic improvements.

Training.  Create training agendas and employee improvement plans (tied to eval cycle) – works training priorities via OJT, “just in time” classes, and formal classes.

Safety.  Ensures shop personnel are operating safely with correct PPE, gear, tools, and procedures.  Works with Safety Manager to ensure compliance and improvements.

Ensures company rules and policies are followed. Initiates progressive disciplinary action when necessary.

Coaches, mentors, and resolves employee concerns in a respectful and mutually beneficial manner.

Monitors employee interactions and conduct, documenting misconduct on designated Skookum forms.

Monitors timesheets for proper time keeping. Records personnel attendance and tracks employee absences, tardiness, etc.

Conducts employee performance reviews and implements motivational strategies, such as employee recognition.

Maintains a neat appearance and conducts oneself in a professional manner.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Maximo.

Qualifications: 

Minimum of 5 years in the HVAC Maintenance industry

Deep knowledge and practical experience in operations, maintenance management, and CMMS experience required. 

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
