Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time, Day shift

Compensation: $41.82 - $41.82/hour

Skookum is seeking a dedicated and proactive HVAC/Refrigeration Technician with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services HVAC equipment and control systems.

Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, motors, etc.

Works from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or verbal, written instructions.

Performs occasional painting and touch up of structures and equipment.

Must be available for after-hours dispatch and on-call rotation.

Maintains EPA, Navy, and required refrigeration documentation.

Communicates and interacts directly with the customer and supervisors; informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.

Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.

Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.

Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

Follows all Safety Procedures and Policies.

Qualifications: 

Minimum of 3 years working in the HVAC/Refrigeration field is preferred.

EL-06A HVAC specialty electrical license preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Required Refrigeration transition and recovery technician certification Type III (Universal)

Required to be qualified in a nationally recognized HVAC certification program from one of the following: (i.e., North American Technician Excellence (NATE), the ESCO Institute HVAC Excellence Professional Level Technician Certification, the International Code Counsel (ICC), documented Journeyman status in a state or nationally recognized apprenticeship program, a DD214 documented Level Five or higher training level or another DoD equivalent).
