HVAC Technician, Airport Maintenance

Summary The HVAC technician performs skilled inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to cooling, refrigeration and ventilation systems. All duties are to be performed in accordance with NMS’ mission, vision, and values. **Responsibilities** Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Conducts regular maintenance checks/inspections on air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This includes cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting various components as needed. + Diagnose and repair issues with air conditioning systems and or refrigeration systems, including mechanical and electrical components. Troubleshoot problems efficiently to minimize downtime for our customers. + Operates and monitors direct digital environmental control systems. + Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their concerns and providing expert advice on cooling system maintenance and usage. + Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while performing HVAC tasks, ensuring the safety always. + Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities. Complete service reports and paperwork in a timely manner. + Notify supervisor is safety standards are not being met. + All other standard maintenance duties/assignments that are pertinent to the maintenance of various client properties. + Other various duties may be assigned as needed. **Qualifications** Minimum Requirements + Must have at least four (4) years’ verifiable and advanced HVAC experience + A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy. + Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: **Background investigation, SIDA security clearance, criminal record check** , drug test. + Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients. Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little supervision. + Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English. + Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client. + **Regular day shift, M-F but position will involve emergency call out on as needed basis.** + Assist other Maintenance Technicians, regardless of skill set/trade. + This position may require approximately up to 15% travel out of Honolulu area to multiple Hawaiian cities. Overnight stays may be required. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to hot and humid conditions. Noise level: Moderate to Loud at times. Description of environment: Employees must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. **Physical Demands:** The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsand may occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.The employee is regularly required to hear, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Employees frequently is required to walk, climb, and balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
