Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Facilities Management HVAC Shop Supervisor.
Duties include:
+ Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC equipment to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
+ Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
+ Use standard HVAC tools. This includes precision measuring instruments, electrical devices, and electronic testing devices.
+ Using knowledge and skill in Building Automation Systems ( BAS ) to complete tasks as needed
+ Look up and order parts.
+ Ability to act as a lead technician and provide guidance to other technicians.
+ The selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the position’s essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC , and refrigeration equipment.
+ HVAC controls for Building Automation Systems experience.
+ Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
+ E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification preferred.
+ Experience working in facilities maintenance preferred.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills needed for position.
+ Computer knowledge and skill with Google E-mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
+ Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
