The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulphuric acid for our North American leaching operations. Description Ensures the heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems run smoothly and efficiently. Performs installation and service, including inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of HVAC systems. Perform preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of main cooling/heating systemsInstall, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, belts, fans, coils, compressors, etc.Work with furnaces, boilers, stoves, heat exchangers, burners, blowers, fans and radiant heatersResponsible for maintaining electrical controls associated directly with the refrigeration/cooling equipmentRecover refrigerant and provide associated documentationPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of applicable experience in Residential and Commercial HVAC maintenance and installationMay require specific HVAC Certification(s) as specified by work siteAble to use a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft OfficeDemonstrated ability to read and interpret refrigerant system pressuresDemonstrated ability to understand the hazards associated with working on/around HVAC equipment, troubleshooting HVAC refrigerant, electrical (480/208 3 phase and 120 volt), and gas systemsDemonstrated ability to braze/solder refrigerant line-set and coils for installation and repair applicationsAbility to effectively troubleshoot electrical/electronic controls associated with HVAC systemsAbility to independently install, diagnose, repair, replace, and balance a wide variety of heating, ventilation, cooling systems and ice makersAbility to perform proper refrigerant recovery and reportingSelf-motivated and willing to work with and be a contributing member of the HVAC teamAbility to communication with all employees at all levelsPreferred
High School diploma or GEDTwo (2) years of training in a Trade School program for HVAC Electrical/Mechanical and Chillers Operation and MaintenanceFive (5) years of applicable experience in Residential and Commercial HVAC Maintenance and InstallationNorth American Technicians Excellence (NATE) CertificateIndustry Competency Exam (ICE) CertificationAbility to assist with the design and planning of new and retrofit HVAC installationsExperience with refrigeration systems (i.e. Mine Air, Sigma, etc.) as used on Industrial shovels and drillsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain and install Chiller systemsWorking knowledge of SAP softwareCriteria/Conditions

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $25.00 - $34.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
