The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team: 

We are seeking a highly motivated HVAC Technician to join very dynamic program in a world-class operations facility.  The role is responsible for operational support and facilities maintenance . Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The HVAC technician’s primary responsibilities will include on-going preventative maintenance schedule, routine to complex troubleshooting, and required repair services.The technician will be required to work independently and as part of a team on a wide variety of tasks and is expected to assess circumstances and conditions, determine appropriate technical solutions in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, client specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.The individual will present recommendations to and follow directions from the supervisor and/or client through to the completion of the task. Other site duties, as required outside of trade, in support of specific mission related taskings will also be required of the individualAssist with Installs, troubleshooting and repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Ensures preventative maintenance is performed per established schedules. Participate in future site design modifications and upgrades.Analyze data to support design efforts for expansion capabilities or improve efficiencies.Perform as part of the O&M team to oversee any mechanical system maintenance or modifications.Individually carry and support a 45lb and prolonged use of equipment (e.g., hand tools, power tools).

Qualifications You Must Have

HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required 
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceAt least 6 years’ experience with mechanical systems (chiller plant, FCUs, air handlers, in-row coolers, VRF) to include experience with as-built design documentation as-built designs to ensure proper change management is recorded.At least 6 years’ experience in chilled water systems (CWS) to include chiller plant, pumps, valves, air handling units, fan coil units, and the associated infrastructure.Must possess at minimum a HVAC journeyman license.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Good project management skills with the ability to work with other professionals to achieve a successful outcome.Familiarization with modifications with building management systems Crossed trained in other trades (Electrical, plumbing, structural, etc.)Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)Microsoft Office skills and how to use the internet to perform product specification searches. Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skillsEPA Certification

This is an onsite role, eligible candidates must reside near the RTX hub in Sterling/Dulles VA .

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 111,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
