Position Summary
The HVAC Technician II performs skilled work involving the routine installation, adjustment, operation, repair, and maintenance of building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and refrigeration equipment; will also perform more complex work alongside and/or with close supervision from the HVAC Supervisor and/or HVAC Lead Technician. This is an intermediate to advanced level HVAC Technician position.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a team environment and experience working with HVAC-specific mechanical equipment (air handlers, AC units, chillers, etc.) and refrigeration systems (condensers, compressors, evaporators, etc.).
Workplace Requirements
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person at the F&CP HVAC Shop, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
This role is classified as an essential position, requiring on-site presence to effectively carry out its vital functions.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, and the hiring range is $20.43 to $25.43, contingent upon qualifications and experience. *Non-Exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent 2 plus years of experience in industrial, institutional, or commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems In lieu of the experience requirement, additional related education, above and beyond what is required, may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.
