Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineering department is seeking an HW Engineering Technician to help in building and troubleshooting prototypes, as well as the assembly and rework of circuit card assemblies. This position assumes the candidate is also responsible for maintaining the HW, System Integration, and EMI labs with the required equipment and managing the supplies. This HW Engineering technician will interface with all design and test engineers, while reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering manager.
This position is strategic to helping the designers perform their duties at their best. It offers the unmatchable opportunity for the candidate to broaden and deepen his/her knowledge in the Engineering field through his/her interactions with engineers.
Job Responsibilities:

Assist engineers in building prototypes, as well as board bring up and advanced troubleshooting down to subassembly and component level activities during test and design validations. Operate typical EE lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, spectrum analyzers, etc...to pinpoint failures down to a particular component. Perform complicated advanced soldering, de-soldering and miscellaneous rework on fine pitch devices, circuit boards, and products in an engineering development environment while ensuring all cuts-and-jumper soldering rework meets IPC standards. Build and test cable assemblies as well as simple mechanical assemblies such as board test fixtures. Support in-house product electrical and environmental qualification testing efforts to include vibration, thermal, optical, EMI pre-scans, and power testing Create and or perform the DVT’s on circuit cards or electronic systems.
