Overview It is a perfect fit for this role if you are an enthusiastic, motivated and determined individual, perhaps looking for your first entry-level role in the high-tech Cancer care environment, or maybe seeking a change in position to further your existing experience. In this job, you will be responsible for the on-site installation and upgrades of medical linear accelerators and associated equipment. You will have the opportunity to travel many different parts of the Indian subcontinent for 3-4 weeks at a time, whilst being responsible for your own working timetable and providing customers the exceptional level of service that they expect from Varian. After receiving world-class training, you will be trusted with the installation, testing, acceptance and handover of multi-million-dollar Linear. Accelerator and associated systems that will be used in our relentless fight against cancer. We are also hiring and empowering women engineers for field installation jobs.Willingness for extensive travel (80% / Duration of each trip: maximum upto 4 weeks). In this challenging position, you will install our radiotherapy machine at our customer’s facilities. You will  work directly with the end user during installation, testing and acceptance. You are required to be communicative, focused and analytical. In addition, you could express your ideas and research in written form. You should work independently and be open to the discussion of ideas and solutions with your colleagues. Role & Responsibilities Installs and upgrades Linear Accelerators of Varian Medical Systems (VMS) according to technical documentation provided,Provides highly visible performance for on-site installation as well as diagnosis,troubleshooting, service and repair of high-tech complex systems,Onsite installation of 3-4 weeks in a stretch for a wide range of complex and advanced VMS Linear Accelerators according to VMS guidelines to ensure the machine install properly, Special & standard tools handling is one of the vital roles essential for precise calibration,Checks out and approves the operational quality of systems & machines after installations,Conduct Acceptance testing to ensure that all product specifications are met with the highest  quality and in timely manner,Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications according to the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP),Provide orientation to customers on basic operation, maintenance, safety and emergency procedures of VMS Linear Accelerator after installation,Reports submission through work orders, timesheets, expense reports, installation reports etc. regularly / weekly (as applicable) to ensure accurate VMS statistical data,Inputs detailed records into VMS information systems about installation and upgrade work performed including technical problems, actions taken and parts orders, etc.,Online coordination with the Install specialist group of VMS is also an important task for high-level troubleshooting in some cases. May require assistance to install specialist at the site in any specialized job during installation or upgrade activities,Provide feedback to the Specialist team on products, procedures and documentation to improve overall installation processes,Maintain a high degree of professionalism & safety according to VMS and customer guidelines including Atomic Energy Regulations of India to perform installation activities under the safest working conditions,Aspect of on-field installations & upgrades in this role is not limited to system hardware, it will expand to software, computers and networking also.Requires minimum supervision during independent installation after training,Qualifications, Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree of Technical Institute or University in electronics / electrical / biomedical /computer / electro-mechanical engineering or related fields or equivalent education,Good knowledge and sound professional experience with electro-mechanical engineering, machine assembly and dis-assembly,Sound hands-on experience of electrical, electronics and mechanical testing, verification, checkout and calibration of high technology complex machines,Well versed with technical documents like installation manuals, technical bulletin,0-3 years of directly related or transferable technical experience with medical devices and Radar of defense system, etc. Field experience of installation & service and on high-end medical devices like CT, MRI  will be added advantage.  Good professional experience about processes and methods of high technology machines such as product installation, servicing, development, specifications, troubleshooting,Considerable experience in handling of tools and test equipment used for verification, servicing and calibration of Varian Linear Accelerators and KV/MV imaging, particularly oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, torque wrenches, hydraulic jacks and mechanical measurement devices as well as software tools,Fluency in the local language and in English, both written and spoken Fluency in English language, both written and spoken,
Willingness to travel, primarily within Indian subcontinent but also worldwide as needed,High skills of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronics related troubleshooting is required, and basic experience about software integration and networking crucial,Customer focused attitude and skills in interpersonal communication is also vital,Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Sales force-Unity, reporting databases, and SharePoint,Desired Skills and Knowledge Knowledge and understanding of beam delivery and imaging will be advantage,Good computer usage, debugging skills and comprehensive knowledge of networks and networking techniques will also be added advantage for this role,Experience and knowledge of machine rigging, cabling, etc. will be beneficial,Troubleshooting and diagnose vacuum systems,Experience is healthcare industry, defense engineering, pharma IndustryFighting cancer calls for big ideasWe envision a world without fear of cancer.
