About the Role
Test Engineer in this is responsible for End-to-End software and Product testing, Vehicle compatibility testing for automotive telematics product
What You Will Do
1. Take-up the ownership of HW qualification activity for complete project and should be able to support multiple projects.
2. Should be able to work on all the BU programs in parallel.
3. Should work closely with test managers and program managers from internal teams closely.
4. Should provide feasibility study during RFI / RFQ stages and provide BC inputs including schedules and costs for required loops of testing.
5. Should be able to take final decision on selection of tests, discussing with end customers on tests required and optimize them through technical argumentations.
6. Should have hands on testing experience in EMC, ELE, Environmental, Mechanical, Thermal, Chemical, IP and Service life tests.
7. Should have worked in ISO 17025 accredited laboratory and must be aware of QMS. Having idea about OEM recognized labs and working with them is added advantage.
8. This candidate must follow and guide the team to practice internal process excellence / quality team guidelines in every aspect of work.
9. Should be ready to write and or review test plans.
10. Should be reviewing the various stages of test reports from internal, suppliers and external 3rd party labs.
11. Should be working on and developing the HARMAN internal standards further.
12. Should have proven knowledge on Automotive internal and OEM standards like for example: ISO 11452-x, ISO 16750-x, CISPR 25, ISO 10605, ISO 20653, IEC, DIN, EN standards and also OEM standards like FCA, VW, BWM, NISSAN, Renault, PSA, Polaris, GM, Toyota, Honda etc.
13. Should have proven experience in schematics review with respect to complete HW qualification test requirements.
14. Should have proven experience in PCB layout and board design considering all the EMI / EMC, ESD, Transients, Environmental, Mechanical, Thermal and Service life test requirements.
15. Should have proven experience in Chemical and IP related product design requirements to meet testing standards.
16. Should be able to work with internal electrical & electronics hardware team and with mechanical hardware design teams on daily basis and support all the BU programs.
17. Should have at least 3 to 4 years of proven experience in interactions with automotive OEM’s. Working with carriers as customers is added advantage.
18. Should have worked with suppliers (ODM’s as well) and vendors in the automotive field.
19. This candidate is expected to drive internal team and also suppliers + ODM teams during complete HW qualification and moderate in case of any failures / issues.
20. Should have thorough working knowledge on RCA tools like 3*5 why analysis, fishbone diagram and must have worked on 8D analysis.
21. Should fulfill required role in the various levels of quality gates according to internal process excellence team.
22. Should be interacting well with all cross functional team including SW teams and certification team as well.
23. Should work with CPM’s (customer side & supplier side) and provide timely inputs for final production.
24. Should be able to train and guide team for all the areas of work technically and try to build the team in terms of other learnings like behavioral, business etiquette, soft skills, communication, presentation and body language.
25.Should be willing to travel in case if needed to OEM / supplier / production plant / external 3rd party labs etc.
What You Need
At least 6-10 year of experience as a Test Engineer in AutomotiveEMC, ELE, Environmental, Mechanical, Thermal, Chemical, IP and Service life tests.Should have proven knowledge on Automotive internal and OEM standards like for example: ISO 11452-x, ISO 16750-x, CISPR 25, ISO 10605, ISO 20653, IEC, DIN, EN standards and also OEM standards like FCA, VW, BWM, NISSAN, Renault, PSA, Polaris, GM, Toyota, Honda etc.Good English communication skills both written and verbalHW setup knowledge, also Telematic/Infotainment systems with knowledge on CAN, Diagnostics and Telephony
