We are seeking a Hydraulic Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering hydraulics and its application in water resources, especially with hydraulic modeling, river mechanics, erosion control/bank stabilization, sediment transport, flood mitigation, and channel restoration and design. Our goal is to find a highly qualified individual who is driven and interested in joining our family of engineers, biologists, and scientists and being instrumental in the expansion of our water resources services. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of hydraulics, solid experience with 1-D and 2-D hydraulic modeling, and a history of performing riverine-based projects. The ability to communicate complex concepts to clients through oral, written, and graphical communication is key. Experience involving riverine flows, hydraulic structures, fish passage, channel design, sediment transport, and geomorphology is highly preferred. Experience with CFD modeling of civil hydraulics projects is also highly desired.  The candidate must be a team player but be comfortable working independently. This position will work closely with our Fort Collins, CO office, where current staff have a range of in-office and remote preferences. This position is hybrid and can be local to one of our 60+ office locations.

Responsibilities: Actively collaborate with our team and provide technical excellence in areas such as river/stream restoration, sediment transport, flood mitigation, fish passage, bridge hydraulics and scour countermeasure design. Field data collection Technical execution of water resource engineering projects  Develop technical approaches and costing, analysis of field and modeling data, interpretation of modeling results, and hydraulic design Technical writing (proposals, memos, reports, presentations, conference papers, etc.) Application of modeling tools in hydraulic assessments and design Attendance and presentation at industry conferences and trade shows Collaboration with technical staff

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hydraulic or Civil EngineeringMaster’s degree preferred 5-10 years of industry experience in civil hydraulic engineering  Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling and analysis (HEC-RAS or SRH-2D) Sediment-transport modeling and analysis preferred CFD experience is a plus EIT Professional Engineer preferred Experience with commonly used software for water resource modeling Must be able to pass a background check
